About Alicia

Alicia Purdy is a Multi-media Journalist with a career background covering Federal legislation, and financial investments as a reporter and Managing Editor of two news companies with a global audience.
In 2021, Alicia ran for Mayor of Albany, waging a historic campaign by coming in second in a 4-way race and earning the highest number of votes of any Republican in the city’s history.
Alicia and her husband, Homer, reside in Albany, and have 5 children and 2 grandchildren. It is Alicia’s passion to represent common sense New Yorkers in the New York State Assembly, to make sure their voices are heard at the legislative level and to rebuild a path for the PEACE, PROSPERITY and POTENTIAL of every New Yorker.

In 2021, Alicia Purdy published “City Hall Confidential” and released it publicly revealing rampant financial corruption and illegal bad acts in the Sheehan administration in Albany.
Alicia Purdy holds a B.A. in Broadcasting and an M.A. in Journalism. Her first “real” job out of graduate school was at Cuyler News Service in the press corp of the New York State Assembly.
In 2023, Alicia published her first novel, “THEY” – a transformational fiction story that is as disturbing as it is inspiring about a world in which there is no war – and no peace, where differences are eliminated and sameness is strength. Is it better to live with a lie, or die for the truth?
