It is no secret that CRIME is a major issue across the state of New York. The headlines flood in daily showing a consistent increase in both petty and violent crimes in the Capital Region. Where are the police? In the Capital Region, they have been handcuffed by progressive policies, and – instead judges of locking up criminals – they, themselves are locked behind the bars of the disastrous bail reform laws.
ALICIA PURDY supports the efforts of peace-keeping in New York State through the enforcement of the laws that facilitate order in a society that supports the life and liberty of its residents.
How Does an Assembly Representative Affect Crime?
As the Assembly representative in the 109th Assembly District (Albany, Guilderland, Voorheesville, and New Scotland), ALICIA PURDY will:
- Vote in favor of accountability and consequences for offenders
- Support law enforcement in doing their sworn duty – to protect and serve
- Advocate for self-protecting using legally-obtained firearms and deadly force when necessary to save one’s life, stand one’s ground, and remove a deadly threat in protection of their families.
- Fight to ensure that the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution is upheld by lawmakers in New York
- Advocate to bring back judicial discretion in levying sentences upon those who choose to violate the laws of New York State.
- Push to increase judicial discretion in addressing bail for alleged perpetrators.
CRIME and CONSEQUENCES have been systematically disconnected in New York State putting your safety at daily and increasing risk. What if (or when) a crime occurs? BAIL REFORM is letting criminals go free. Law enforcement is handcuffed and chronically underfunded as are support services like 9-1-1 dispatch and emergency services increasing your risk.
What are your taxes paying for? My PRIORITY is to work on demanding that public safety in New York be put FIRST in the legislature – before any other agenda, concern, or project – including legal gun ownership, and better funding and support for law enforcement.
IF WE AREN’T SAFE, WE CANNOT HAVE PEACE, PROSPERITY, or any POTENTIAL for our future in New York. IT’S TIME TO MOVE IN A NEW DIRECTION.
